A gold coin minted by the Spanish colonies, worth about seven weeks' pay. It was considered a lot of money. Grog: A pirate's favourite drink. Heave To: An order to stop. Jolly Roger: The pirate flag with its skull and crossbones. Scallywag: A term of contempt for a non seafarer. Sealegs: The funny way pirates walked because of the rolling of the ship. Sea dog: Very experienced sailor Shiver me Timers: An expression of surprise. Walk the Plank: a punishment where offenders were forced to walk off a wooden board on the side of a ship.
